4. How to Use MailMinder
Hey there! Now that you know what MailMinder is all about, let’s learn how to use it. It’s super easy!
Sorting New Emails
Section titled “Sorting New Emails”-
Find a new email you want to sort
- Open your Gmail and look for an email you want MailMinder to categorize.
- Normally unlabeled emails are automatically sorted into the
[AutoSenso]/to-screen
label .

Add the “to-sort” label
- Select one or more emails.
- Click
More
>Label as
> Findto-sort
in the list > Select it.

Pick a category
- Now, add another label to tell MailMinder where this email should go.
- Choose from:
[AutoSenso]/Imbox
(for important stuff)[AutoSenso]/Feed
(for newsletters)[AutoSenso]/Papertrail
(for records)[AutoSenso]/Promotional
(for ads and offers)

Let MailMinder do its magic The next time MailMinder runs, it will:
- Add that email to selected category list in the spreadsheet.
- Update filter for that category, which will move future emails from that sender to the right label.
- Apply the same label to all existing emails from that sender.
Manually Adding Senders to Categories
Section titled “Manually Adding Senders to Categories”Sometimes, you might want to add a sender to a category without waiting for an email, or remove a sender from a category. Here’s how:
- Open the MailMinder spreadsheet.
- Go to the sheet for the category you want (imbox, feed, papertrail, or promotional).
- Add the sender’s email address to the list, or remove it if you want to stop sorting emails from that sender.
- Run the
UPDATE_EMAIL_LISTS
function in the Apps Script editor to update the filters.
Dealing with Unwanted Emails
Section titled “Dealing with Unwanted Emails”- Find an email you never want to see again
- Add the
to-ignore
label - MailMinder will send future emails from this sender straight to trash
Remember, MailMinder learns from what you do. The more you use it, the smarter it gets!
